The IHSAA conducted its annual football sectional pairings show on Sunday, Oct. 13 and all three Washington County schools found out their fate. Salem will begin the Class 2A Sectional 40 journey at home, while Eastern will travel in the same sectional. West Washington will open the Class A Sectional 47 on the road. All games begin at 7 p.m.

This year a total of 312 teams will play in the postseason in the 52nd annual IHSAA Football State Tournament.

Sectionals will begin on Oct. 25 for teams in Class A through Class 4A, while Class 5A and 6 A will begin on Nov. 1. The state finals for all even classes will be played on Nov. 29 and odd classes on Nov. 30 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.

The Lions (3-5) will host Clarksville (0-8), while Brownstown Central (8-0) will travel to Switzerland County (6-2), the Musketeers (1-7) will travel to Paoli (8-0) and Tell City (4-4) will go to Crawford County (0-8).

The Lions are 1-1 this year against sectional opponents as they were defeated by Brownstown Central (54-12), but claimed a win over the Musketeers (37-7). The Musketeers were 0-3 against sectional opponents this year as they lost to Tell City (49-0), Brownstown Central (62-0) and the Lions.

As for the Senators (3-5), they will travel to play South Decatur (3-4). Milan (5-3) will go to Knightstown (5-3), Eastern Greene (3-5) will travel to Greenwood Christian (6-2) and North Decatur (7-1) will travel to Edinburgh (0-8).

The Senators did not play any sectional opponents during the year.
