  3. It's Official: Feb. 4 Plan Commission Meeting Rescheduled

SalemLeader.com received a public notice today from Washington County Surveyor Emily Rodman stating that the proposed Tuesday, February 4, meeting of the Washington County Planning Commission has been cancelled.

Reasons given for the cancellation were "anticipated high attendance and lack of public safety precautions at the Courthouse."

A public notice was also received from Lisa Fleming, attorney for the county plan commission, stating the following:

"The Washington County Plan Commission Public Meeting/Hearing set for February 4, 2025, at 6:30 P.M. has been cancelled and in its place, there will be two Public Meetings/Hearings on February 18, 2025, and on March 4, 2025, at 6:30 P.M., to hear questions and comments from the Public on the draft Zoning Ordinance.  Comments regarding the draft Zoning Ordinance may also be made in writing and filed with the Office of the Plan Director, but must be filed prior to the Public Meeting/Hearing to be considered.  Both meetings will be held in the Superior Court at the Washington County Judicial Center.  The address is 801 S. Jackson Street, Salem, Indiana 47167.   Anyone wishing to speak at either Public Meeting/Hearing must so indicate on a sign-in sheet upon arrival at the Judicial Center."
