The Salem Moose Lodge is hosting a Trunk-or-Treat on Thursday, Oct. 31, 6-8 p.m.
The lodge is located at 1004 Webb Street, Salem.
The public is invited.
Washington County Special Olympics is hosting it's Third Annual Spooktacular" on Monday, Oct. 27, 2-5 p.m. at Lyles Park, 5581 East Old State Road 56, Salem.
The public is invited for an unforgettable evening filled with fun, food and festive vibes!
A costume party will be featured--dressing up is encouraged, but not required. A prize will be awarded for the Best Costume.
Pizza and drinks will be provided. Those attending are asked to bring a dessert or sweet treat.
There is a lineup of games, karaoke and other fun activities that will keep everyone entertained.
Don't miss this exciting event and an opportunity to see all of your Special Olympics friends and show off your Halloween spirit.
The Washington County Extension Board Annual Meeting & 4-H Recognition Banquet is Monday, October 21 at Cornerstone Hall (1500 RC Morris Dr., Salem) at 6:30 pm.
The evening will feature a delicious buffet, 4-H volunteer and youth awards, Extension Board recognition, and Purdue Extension updates.
Donations will be collected to assist Washington County’s Purdue CARET members.

Eric Zink, Chief Financial Officer from Hoosier Uplands, presented a check for $11,500 to purchase new radios for the Salem Police Department.
This will enable the police department to be better equipped to respond to emergencies and better serve the residents of Salem .
Receiving the check of Oct. 14 was Sergeant James Moore. The police department had applied for the grant.
On Sunday, October 13, at around 4:03 p.m., officers from the Salem Police Department, along with the Salem Fire Department and Washington County Ambulance Service, responded to a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of S. Orchard Rd. and Woodland Dr.
The collision involved a Nissan SUV and a Harley Davidson motorcycle.
Investigators found that the motorcycle was heading south on S. Orchard Rd. when the Nissan attempted to make a left turn from Woodland Dr. onto Orchard Rd., leading to a collision with the front of the SUV.
Despite life-saving efforts, the motorcycle rider was pronounced dead at the scene. The Indiana State Police were called in for a thorough investigation, utilizing a crash reconstructionist, and a death notification was later made
