Willard Smock was home during the holidays for several days with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hiram Smock going on from here to Indianapolis to work in the Thompson Chain of restaurants as cook. 

 

Miss Grace Morris, who is teaching at Alton, Illinois near St. Louis and Miss Lois Morris who is teaching at Rockford, Illinois, near Chicago arrived Christmas and spent the holidays at home. 

 

The Ladies Aid of the Canton Methodist Church met and elected the following officers for this year. President, Mrs. Pritchard Winslow, Vice President, Mrs. R.B. McCoskey, Secretary, Mrs. Earl Sease, Assistant Secretary, Mrs. Charlie Weller, and Treasurer, Mrs. Joe Schmitt.

 

County Superintendent, L.B. Mather was in Indianapolis attending a meeting of county school superintendents and a religious education conference. 

 

Mrs. Edward Cavanaugh returned from Indianapolis, where she had been sent as a delegate by the War Mothers of Salem Chapter, Cecil Grimes Post to attend a district meeting in which many of the leading War Mothers of the country participated. 

 

Arlie Chastain, bookkeeper for the Louisville Trust Company, has been elected to the position of auditor.
